The City of Alpine and Brewster County are working collaboratively to evaluate future options for ground ambulance and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in the region and are inviting the public to participate in a series of town hall meetings this month.
A joint city-county taskforce—made up of City of Alpine officials, Brewster County officials, and community members—has been meeting to assess how EMS services should move forward. This review is underway because the contract with the current EMS provider will expire in May of next year, and the provider has indicated it does not intend to renew the agreement.
To ensure transparency and gather community input, the taskforce will host three public town halls to share information, answer questions, and hear feedback from residents regarding EMS services and potential paths forward.
Town Hall Schedule:
January 21 at 6:00 p.m. Alpine Civic Center
January 26 Sul Ross State University, Student Center
Saturday, January 31 Marathon Community Center
Community participation is strongly encouraged, as public input will play an important role in informing future decisions related to emergency medical services in Alpine and Brewster County.
Additional details, including exact locations and any updates, will be shared on the City’s website and official communication channels as they become available.
For questions or more information, residents are encouraged to contact City Hall.
