County Judge The County Judge is the presiding officer of the Commissioners Court and represents the county in many administrative functions. In Brewster County the Judge serves as the chief budget officer.

Most County Judges have broad judicial duties, such as presiding over misdemeanor criminal and small civil cases, probate matters and appeals from the Justice of the Peace Court. The Judge also serves as the head of emergency management.
