With the increased reports of the New World Screwworm, please refer to the information listed below to assist with reporting and movements within the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) identified infested zones. For more information, please reach out to your local Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) Representative or contact me for TAHC contact information. Please feel free to share publicly with your jurisdictional constituents.

 

How to report a suspected New World Screwworm case:

In Livestock, Pets or Companion Animals:

  • Call your veterinarian
  • Call the Texas Animal Health Commission: 1-800-550-8242

In Wildlife:

  • Contact the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department through your local TPWD wildlife biologist or call: (512) 389-4505

In Humans:

  • Immediately contact your healthcare provider
